Trail description

Enjoy a relaxing walk around the largest glacial lake in the TEA National Park. Located at the base of Mt. Ventasso, Lake Calamone is encompassed by peat bogs and enormous beech trees that reflect off its waters. Around its ridges are endemic species such as the Southern Marsh orchid, a vary rare species only found in Reggio Emilia. The 'Wildlife Trail' that wraps around the lake is an easy walk and provides 13 stopping points for lounging and play.

how to get here

From the parking lot of Bar il Faggio, continue on foot on SP102 into the woods. After about a kilometer uphill, the asphalt road will lead you directly to Lake Calamone.
